Chaka has been DJing for 30 plus years. Started on Radio and Fraternity partys while attending the University of Evansville on a basketball scholarship. After graduating with a degree in Criminal Justice and minor in Mass communications he continued to DJ in Evansville as radio host and private partys and got his first taste as a club dj. Later on he moved on to continue his career as a DJ in Indianapolis and Detroit while working for SonyBMG in order service and later as field rep working with a variety of Labels/artist in all genres. While working at that time he found his love for Key West visiting friends and sometimes guest DJing. In 2005 the day after Hurricane Wilma he arrived ready to start a new journey in Key West. He has DJ'd at a lot of venues and events up and down Duval and around the island but he has definitely made a home right here at Ricks for the past 10 plus years. You can catch him every Thursday and Saturday making the floor shake and the bodies move right here at Ricks.
